RooSwing Privacy Policy

RooSwing is a golf swing app. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. "We" and "us" mean the developer of RooSwing.
The short version
- Your swing videos stay on your phone. They are recorded and analysed on the device and are never uploaded to us.
- We keep only what we need to run your account and your subscription: your email address, an account ID, and your subscription status.
- No advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app.
What we collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and a password, or, if you choose Sign in with Apple or Google, the account ID and email address that Apple or Google share with us. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email, and we then receive a private relay address instead. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and are stored only in hashed form. We never see them in plain text.
Subscription information. When you start a free trial or subscribe, Apple processes the payment. We never receive your card or bank details. We receive and store your subscription status: which plan you are on, whether it is in a trial, when the current period ends, and whether it is set to renew.
Technical information. Like most online services, our servers and service providers record basic technical details when the app talks to them, such as IP address, device and operating-system type, app version and the time of the request. These records are used to keep the service working and secure.
What stays on your phone
RooSwing uses your camera to watch for and record your golf swings. The camera feed, the recorded videos, the body-position analysis, and your app settings are processed and stored only on your device. We do not receive or have access to them. They are removed when you delete them in the app or delete the app.
How we use information
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To provide your free trial and subscription and unlock the features you paid for.
- To respond to you when you contact us.
- To keep the service secure and to fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping records of transactions.
We do not use your information for advertising and we do not build profiles of you.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run parts of RooSwing for us, and only for that purpose:
- Supabase: account sign-in and authentication.
- Railway: hosts our server and database.
- RevenueCat: manages subscriptions and tells us your subscription status.
- Apple: App Store payments and Sign in with Apple.
- Google: Sign in with Google, if you choose it.
Each of them handles your information under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and subscription information for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account we delete your account record and subscription status from our database and remove your sign-in account. Subscription transaction records held by Apple and RevenueCat may be kept by them for as long as they need to meet their own legal and accounting obligations. Server logs are kept only for a short period.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: in the app, open the menu and tap Delete account. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel that in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
- Access or correct your information: contact us using the details below.
- Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, such as the right to receive a copy of your data or to object to how it is used. To use any of these rights, contact us. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Information sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to our systems is restricted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
RooSwing is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where that happens, we rely on their contractual and legal safeguards.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will tell you in the app.
